the one thing i will probably never get again in an mmo is a default ui i can do whatever i want with (eq2). like war, this ui was made all pretty so you can't really move anything.
How does the broker work? I never really liked the WoW/WAR type of broker with an auction system and shit being sent to your mailbox, but I'm afraid thats going to be used more frequently...IMO the EQ2 broker system was the best since you could just leave shit up instead of having to relist it for a fee after a day if it didn't sell.
Also, how do spell upgrades work? Do you just get a spell and thats it, or can you upgrade them like in eq2?
And is there any customization for classes so everyone isnt exactly the same? AAs or some such talent tree type thing?
Looks pretty cook but I'd like to get into beta if possible to mess around. Whats the level cap?
The broker does use a fee to list items but they stay active for 8 days..also when something sells while your online a message pops up on your screen.
The money is collected from a the broker window not the mail box.
At the moment though the only thing i dont like about the broker is you can only list a certain amoutn of items at a time 10 i think dont remember.. not sure if this increases as you level but its all i can list atm.
As for the spells they get upgraded to a higher version as you level there is no 8 different tiers for the same spell.
There is also something called Stigmas in the game your character can equip 5 total and they give you certain things like the ability for assassins to equip greatswords or for gladiators to duel wield these are mob drops as far as i know.
And!!!there is also skills that use DP points that you gain form killing mobs they use either 2000 or 4000 DP and arepretty awsome to get you out of a tight spot or to do a little more dps....
For example the level 10 dp i got as a templar does a good amount of damage wards 50% of the damage i take up to 10,000 points of damage and reflects back 20% of incoming damage to the Mob or pc attacking me
Ranger gets one thats a dps buff for 2 minutes not sur eon the other as i havent got a chance to play all the classes yet.
I'm going to take a LOT of convincing. I played Lineage 2 with Synn and I was really excited about it for the first 20 levels. Then the 20-25 grind. Then the fact that there was no endgame - just like WAR. 305 Weaponsmith 238 Alchemist 230 Line Cook currently on Fries Gathering 304 / Aether 220
what has no end game? in the first two patches they've added three instanced end game raid zones. read a Wiki. Only level 12, but the best way I can describe how the game hit me this weekend is I feel like I did when I first played eq2, minus the bugs and crashes.
this game has raiding instanced and contested not only that form what i have seen the contested arnt going to be low hp mobs that die in 3 minutes but rather 20-30minutes fights
well assuming there's actually going to be contests for mobs, so you'll be likely pvp'ing and pve'ing, and ultimately the side that does the most dmg to the mob gets the kill. And unlike EQ2 and WoW, there are quite a few mmo's out there that have contested that are meant for multiple raids, atleast that was the case in some earlier mmo's I've played.
i have played games where there is no raid window your guild puts together as many solid groups as they can and tackle what ever is infront of them.. could be 3 groups could be nine but they key to winning was always a stacked dps group burning the shit out of the mob
DP sounds a lot like God abilities. 10,000 point ward and damage reflect at level 10!?
God abilities made EQ2 PvP super awesome...
Jait's friends have been saying that with higher level DP abilities you can run around one-shotting people in PvP. _______ DAMN YOU MY PEW PEW IS GONE!!
You're making a poor assumption that HP and dps amount in Aion is similar to WoW at level 10. I would reserve comparison comments until you have some basis of comparison.
6 months ago before some of you played WoW, you'd hear quite a bit of poorly formed opinions of that game as well. Now it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
you're also misreading it...it's a 50% dmg shield, up to 10K dmg. Not to mention, Lone left out the part about it having a 15 sec timer. So in short, it's not as ridiculous as say...bubble?
And since you can't pvp in the abyss until level 25, it's irrelevant anyway as a balance issue in pvp at level 10.
I read it correctly, just wasn't typing the whole thing out since people had read it once already. I also left out the 20% damage reflection part. My point was more that if it's that crazy at level 10 the assumption would be that one of these abilities at level cap would be more powerful, not less.
Also, using Bubble as a comparison isn't a great idea because Bubble is just as broken as God abilities and easily the most hated and OP ability for PvP in WoW.
It's all just hearsay and speculation at this point though since I haven't played it myself. Like I've said before I'll reserve final judgement til I play it myself. That won't stop me from commenting and questioning things now though. =P _______ DAMN YOU MY PEW PEW IS GONE!!
